Pictured here being recovered after a practise launch is Barmouth's RNLB Moira
Barrie, a Mersey class lifeboat which first arrived on station in 1992.
Barmouth lifeboat station has operated an all weather lifeboat for nearly 180 years. Today, a carriage-launched Mersey class and an inshore D class lifeboat launch over the beach to avoid the harbour bar. Lifeboat crews are volunteers, who come from all walks of life, and give up their time and comfort to carry out rescues and save lives at sea on the lifeboats.
Thirteen awards for gallantry have been presented at Barmouth.
This website is dedicated to all those who have served on the Barmouth Lifeboats since the early 1820's and to the volunteer crews who continue to serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
